Mini India has launched the latest generation of the Cooper Convertible in the Indian market. This new opentop model is priced at Rs. 58.50 lakh (exshowroom). It is brought to India as a completely built unit (CBU). Bookings have already started at Mini dealerships, and deliveries have also begun without delay.
Price and Variant Positioning
The Cooper Convertible is positioned as a premium offering in the Mini lineup. It costs around Rs. 14.80 lakh more than the regular Cooper S. When compared to the performancefocused JCW variant, the Convertible is priced about Rs. 4.1 lakh higher. This higher pricing is mainly due to its openroof design and imported status.
Exterior Design and Styling Updates
The new Convertible keeps the familiar Mini shape, which makes it instantly recognizable. However, there are several updates to give it a fresh look. At the front, the car gets redesigned round LED headlamps with different lighting patterns. The grille has also been updated with a new design.
At the rear, the tail lamps are vertically placed and now come with a flush surface finish, which makes the car look more modern. Overall, the design remains classic but with small changes that improve its appeal.
Colour Options and Wheels
Mini is offering the Cooper Convertible in four exterior colour options. Buyers can choose from British Racing Green, Chili Red, Sunny Side Yellow, and Ocean Wave Green. The mirror caps are available in Black or White.
The car runs on 18inch twotone alloy wheels that are designed to improve aerodynamics as well as looks.
Convertible Roof and Boot Space
One of the main highlights of this car is its fabric roof. It is electrically operated and can open fully in about 18 seconds. Closing the roof takes around 15 seconds, and this can be done at speeds of up to 30 kmph. The roof can also be opened partially, just like a sunroof.
In terms of luggage space, the boot offers 215 litres when the roof is closed. When the roof is folded down, the space reduces to 160 litres, which is still usable for daily needs.
Interior Layout and Infotainment System
Inside the cabin, the new Cooper Convertible follows Mini’s latest minimalist design theme. The dashboard features a round OLED display placed at the center. This single screen works as both the instrument cluster and the infotainment system.
The system runs on BMW’s Operating System 9. It includes navigation, connected car features, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and an intelligent voice assistant. The layout feels clean and easy to use.

Comfort and Technology Features
The Convertible comes wellequipped with modern features. It includes a headsup display, Harman Kardon sound system, wireless phone charging, and digital key support. The togglestyle controls below the screen add a unique Mini touch.
There are also different Experience Modes that change the lighting, sound effects, and screen graphics inside the cabin. The car gets electric sports seats with Vescin upholstery as standard. The driver seat also has an active seat function for better comfort during long drives.
Engine, Performance and Gearbox
Powering the new Mini Cooper Convertible is a 2.0litre turbopetrol engine. It produces 201 bhp of power and 300 Nm of torque. The engine is paired with a sevenspeed dualclutch automatic gearbox.
The car can accelerate from 0 to 100 kmph in around 6.9 seconds. Its top speed is rated at 240 kmph, which is quite impressive for a convertible.
Warranty and Support
Mini is offering a standard two-year unlimited kilometer warranty with the new Cooper Convertible. Along with this, buyers also get 24×7 roadside assistance, which adds peace of mind for ownership.
